Adolescent Therapy
Being a teenager has always been hard but with social media and the pandemic, young people are facing unprecedented stressors that are having detrimental effects on their mental health.
But here's the good news - therapy can be a valuable tool for young people to develop better communication skills and learn healthy coping strategies.
As a therapist, I know that when teenagers are struggling, it can impact their parents too. That's why I take a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with both the young person and their parents to help them overcome these challenges and get back on track.
Some reasons that might bring you into therapy:
Anxiety (perfectionism, trouble focusing, intense worry about the future)
Impulsive behaviors (outbursts)
Disordered eating (over or under eating)
Depression (sense of hopelessness, not connecting with peers)
Self-harming behaviors (substance use, cutting, burning)
Struggles with Identity (sexual/gender)
It took me a long time to believe that I deserved a therapeutic space. I viewed taking care of myself as selfish or indulgent, until I actually did it.
Working on yourself, identifying your patterns, understanding why you respond the way you respond, getting to the root of your behavior, is the greatest investment you can make in yourself.

I currently only accept Cigna insurance through Headway and am an Out of Network (OON) provider for all other insurance policies. If I am OON with your insurance, I ask that you call and confirm your OON benefits before we meet if you would like to bill through insurance. You should ask the following questions:
Do I have mental health benefits?
What is my annual deductible?
What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health?
What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health?
How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
I will provide you with a superbill at the end of the month for you to submit to insurance and receive reimbursement.
